Goals and Objectives
-
To
facilitate communication among African American organizations within
East Tennessee through creating a comprehensive list of African
American organizations, churches and businesses in East Tennessee.
-
To
disseminate information on African American programs and events
affecting African American communities in East Tennessee.
-
To
enhance and improve economic development in African American
communities in East Tennessee through sponsoring workshops and seminars
that relate to economic development, identifying economic development
resources in African American communities in East Tennessee and
developing a resource manual that will be distributed free of charge.

To
make referrals to African American organizations in East Tennessee who
request information about economic development resources.

To
conserve the heritage of African American communities in East Tennessee
through education and historic preservation by promoting African
American culture and representation through the diversification of
staff in East Tennessee and promoting African American history through
the curricula of East Tennessee schools
